Frequently asked questions
Everything you want to know about Ribbon Care: how it works, how much it costs, how your data is protected, and how to start using it today.
Getting started
Right now, yes. Ribbon Care is in public beta on TestFlight, completely free with every feature unlocked. When it launches on the App Store, some features will be available with a subscription, but there will always be a free trial period.
All iPhones running iOS 18 or later. iPad and Apple Watch aren't supported yet, but we're working on it.
Easy: install the TestFlight app from the App Store (it's free, made by Apple), then open the Ribbon Care invite link. Tap Accept, then Install. The app will show up on your home screen like any other, and updates arrive automatically.
Privacy and security
Completely. We have no servers, no databases, and we can't see anything you write. Everything stays on your iPhone and your personal iCloud. If you choose to share your baby's profile with your partner, you can do it through iCloud, but your personal data (mood, wellbeing, notes) is never included.
Never. Everything you record in the You section stays exclusively on your iPhone. Your mood, your thoughts, your notes, your body: no one can see them, not even your partner. It's your private space.
Pregnancy
Every week welcomes you with an original illustration and tells you three things: how your baby is growing (with a size comparison you can picture), how your body is changing, and a special moment unique to that week. You can share the illustrations on WhatsApp, Instagram, or save them to your photo library.
Feel a kick? Tap the button. The app records the time of every movement and shows you daily, weekly, and monthly charts. There's a goal of 10 kicks per day: when you reach it, the app lets you know. The charts use different colors so you can see the trend at a glance.
Tap to start, tap to stop. The app calculates duration, interval between contractions, and average frequency. If contractions get closer together and longer, an alert suggests you contact your doctor. It's the perfect history to show when you arrive at the hospital.
Yes. The calendar follows the recommendations of the Italian National Health Service or the American system. Dates are calculated from your due date, and for each test you'll find a clear explanation of what happens, why it matters, and how to prepare.
Yes, you get a reminder before each appointment. You can also add custom appointments if your doctor prescribes additional tests.
After birth
A beautiful moment. Enter the name, date, and time of birth, and the app transforms: from pregnancy tracking to newborn tracking, with feedings, diapers, sleep, and growth. All your pregnancy data stays saved. And if you have another baby on the way, you can follow pregnancy and newborn at the same time.
Pick a side (left or right) and the timer starts automatically. When you're done, save. The app suggests the opposite breast from your last session, so you don't have to remember. You'll find a daily summary with number of sessions, total duration, and comparison with yesterday. If you started before opening the app, you can enter the time manually.
Yes, up to 10. Each child has their own profile, history, and data. Switch between them with a single tap.
Yes. Take a photo of the certificate and attach it to the corresponding vaccine. Photos sync via iCloud and are visible to your partner too, if you share your baby's profile.
Enter the date of birth and the calendar fills itself with every vaccine from your country's national plan. For each one you see the dose, the expected month, whether it's mandatory or recommended, and what to expect after the shot.
Sharing
Yes. Invite anyone with a link, and from that moment you follow the baby together, in real time. Every time someone logs a feeding, a diaper, or a visit, everyone gets a notification. You can invite your partner, grandparents, a babysitter: anyone with an iPhone.
Not to use the app. Ribbon Care works offline too. You only need a connection to sync data between devices and for sharing with your partner.
Feeding
Yes. Every recipe flags 9 allergen categories: gluten, dairy, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, soy, and sesame. You see them right away as badges on the recipe card, before you even start cooking.
Of course. You can save and edit suggested recipes, and add your own personal ones. Over time you build the perfect recipe book for your family.
Yes. When you log a baby meal, you can pick a recipe directly from the recipe book. That way you keep track of what they ate and their preferences.
Mother's wellbeing
12 types, including breathing, pelvic floor (Kegel) with a visual timer, walking, swimming, yoga, stretching, and strength training. The app only shows what's right for your current phase. After birth, it starts gently: just breathing, Kegel, and light walking for the first two weeks, then gradually adds more until you're back to full activity.
